Discover the beauty of Northern France with a Cultural Tour

Often overlooked by visitors to France, the Northern regions have so much to offer. Here are some of the highlights from past tours we have done:

Normandy Cultural Tours

There is so much more to Normandy than battlefield history and we love sharing it with our guests! Spend a tranquil day at Monet’s Garden, visit the beautiful La Roche Guyon castle, and go back in time to the Medieval town of Honfleur. We’ll explore the magnificent cathedral of Bayeux and the famous tapestry of the 11th century. Enjoy the local cheeses (Camembert, anyone?) and the world’s best ciders which is what Normandy is perhaps most famous for.

Marne and Reims Wine Tours

Not too far from Paris, the Champagne region is great to visit not only to drink some great wine but also to see one of France’s largest and most decorated cathedrals. We love providing customized experiences for this region that make our guests’ time enjoyable while visiting wineries, taking in the city sites, and enjoying the countryside.

Meuse, moselle, and Luxembourg Cultural Tours

The Meuse and Moselle tend to be more remote and quiet than other French regions, but for those looking for less crowds these regions hold some of France’s best kept secrets. Rolling hills and beautiful countryside mark these regions along with great local wines you won’t find anywhere else. Visit historic towns like St. Mihiel, Bar-Le-Duc and relax at the sandy shores of Le Lac du Madine or L’Abbaye de Pont a Mousson. Michael has a very personal connection with these regions having been born and raised here, so rest assured you’ll be getting a very local experience.

Alsace Cultural Tours

Oh Alsace…where do we begin? This region is a bit secluded and therefore missed by many American tourists…but once you get here, you’ll be so glad you made the trip. Alsace is France’s sunniest region and boasts some of the most spectacular views thanks to the Vosges mountain range. We love strolling the streets of Riquewihr and Ribeauville to eat local choucroute, drink fantastic Riesling and browse the beautiful handmade stoneware and linens that the region is so well known for. Visit Haut Koeningsburg, the largest restored castle in the world…or if abandoned castles are more your thing, there are many to explore here too. We even like to stay in one! This region is also home to the world’s largest car museum for our automotive fans. Alsace has quite a history with both French and German influence woven into the threads of everyday life.

Sacred Sites Tours

When it comes to significant historical religious sites, France has so much to offer…and then some. Take a tour with us in various regions (or across the whole Northern rim of France…your choice!) to visit special, sacred sites. Some of our favorites include Mont St. Michel, Bayeux, Angers, and Amiens.
